The new typeface Vela designed by the award-winning type designer Holger Königsdörfer, is now expanding our type library.
Its specific particularities such as sturdy serifs with slightly curved edges were derived from a series of manual calligraphic, typographic and even photographic experiments. This exceptional approach contributes to a visual impression full of character as well as to enhanced legibility.

The designer also spent special attention to the implementation of the cursive style. Impressed by a subtle calligraphic flow it supplementary includes a wide range of swash capitals and ligatures.
Designed mainly as a text face Vela is nevertheless perfectly suitable for headline use due to the abundance of tiny details worked in the carefully elaborated letterforms.

Vela was also selected to be "Typeface of the month" in PAGE magazine (may 2010).
